What contemporary ska, reggae, and rocksteady bands are you people into? Bands I'm into: The Toasters --haven't seen them yet, but hopefully I will get to in a few weeks. Westbound Train -- the first ska band I ever saw live, I saw them a few years ago and with some luck I will get to see them play again with the Toasters. the Aggrolites -- if you haven't heard them, they're a really good skinhead reggae band from California. I'm dying to see them, but they don't play that many shows near where I live. the Malcontents -- a ska/punk group local to Indiana that I'm a big fan of. the Naptones -- another Indiana band, they play a lot of ska and rocksteady.

The Toasters were great live. I saw them a year or two back in Leeds. Problem is that fuckhead UK Customs wouldn't let the singer into the country, some problem with his passport or criminal record or something. Same thing happened to a couple of South American bands last year (Acao Direta & No Rest). Fortress England eh? What a shower...

I can give you some real good ska-rocksteady-reggae french bands. Two-tone club: the french Specials! www.twotoneclub.com ASPO (they made the Alton Ellis backing band, it's on a live album), VIKINGS REMEDY (excellent rocksteady-reggae with a beautiful woman voice!), MOONHOP, SOUL INVADERS (from Paris! Showmen, ska reggae soul!)... I'll give you the adress of their website later I'm not an internet professional...

And don't forget some other incredible Belleville reggae band aka the 8°6 Crew who had a new LP for soon (I hope, if they don't drink too much as usual ;D).

Haha, yeah, Canada's a pretty cool place. I've heard BM's toured in Canada before. But it's been ages.
